Welcome from the Hack
Welcome to our 2025/26 season of curling. It will be exciting to see all of you old curlers again and I look forward to meeting all of our new ones.
This season is the club’s 170th anniversary! We have some things planned so stay tuned.
The ACC never sleeps. We’ve been busy this off season, and we’re sure you’ll be happy to see the newest renovations to the club with the new flooring around the ice surface. We have done a lot the last two seasons to provide a much cleaner and modern facility, and you can do your part to keep it that way by replacing your grippers! New grippers are the number one way you can help keep the both the facility and the wonderful ice surface we all enjoy clean.
Our membership is up! We are the envy of other clubs as we have sustained growth over the last several years and we are not done yet.
We introduced a new league structure last year and I am happy to announce that all of our primetime leagues are full or very close. Not to fear there are still plenty of opportunities to curl as much as you want.
We have added to our club governance structure with some new league convenors for our new leagues. Our league coordinator assures me the remaining few we need will be on board shortly. If you are wondering how you can help with the leagues or elsewhere in the club, please see our volunteer coordinator or speak to anyone on our board.
Please familiarize or refresh yourselves with the rules of curling and etiquette so that all our games run smoothly. We will continue to strive to complete eight ends of curling in every game.
Be sure to sign up for bonspiels. They are a great way to spend a Saturday and hang out with your fellow club members. The first one up is the June Dalgity Sweep and Swing on October 18. Nine holes of golf and 8 ends of curling followed by a bbq dinner at the club. Go to the ACC website and register.
Watch for the pre-season newsletter coming soon, which will provide more details on many of the items above. You can find more information on our website too.
Lastly, this is my last year as president. It has been a privilege to serve in this capacity and I hope this year is our best yet. Enjoy your season and don’t forget to re-introduce yourselves to Allie!
