President's Message

From the Hack,

Good day Curlers,

I hope you are all enjoying your curling experience this year. We are in our final month and still lots to happen. With a very successful Lefties Bonspiel in the rearview mirror, we now focus on the defense of the Quebec Cup Challenge this coming weekend.

Still to come…playoffs in some of our fixed leagues, the Presidents’ Challenge Cup in Arnprior, Little Rocks Championship in Manotick, the 96-member strong Almonte Cup and finally, our party spiel. With this much still to happen there is still plenty of curling to come as well as time to get your volunteer work done and your $80 back!

It’s encouraging to see more and more people wearing head protection. We have had a few falls this year and you can’t protect everything but protecting your coconut is first and foremost.

Be sure to take all of your personal belongings – equipment, water bottles, clothing, dishes - home at the end of the season. Anything left behind will be donated or discarded.

Thank you to Wayne and Lisa, Glen and Karen. These Almonte Cup team captains promise a great weekend. It’s a ton of work for them but the payoff is great curling for us. You know that the Almonte Cup supports the Almonte Hospital Foundation and the auction is a key part.  Please let Director Judith Scott know if you have a new item that you’re willing to donate for our auction table.

The Hack

Don.
